Couillard Wins DOE American-Made Network Solar Prize

The Couillard Solar Foundation just won the US Department of Energy’s HeroX American-Made Network’s Solar Prize for their innovative Couillard Canopy product and a second JEDI prize for the nonprofit outcomes of their canopies’ enterprise.

In September 2023, the Couillard team submitted a highly-detailed application for this, the 7th annual round of DOE’s innovation supporting contest.

Among hundreds of other firms, enterprises and entrepreneurs, the foundation won their Ready! round, which also makes them a semifinalist for their next SET! contest.

The Foundation was awarded $75,000 to be used to further innovate and commercialize the Couillard Canopy product.

Central to this work, Jackie Harrison-Jewell and Elise Couillard compiled the winning competition submittal.
